South Shore Line Station in Michigan City Demolished

MICHIGAN CITY, IND. – On Monday, January 31, 2022, the iconic South Shore Station in Michigan City was demolished. All that remains is the waiting shelter. This is a view that has not been seen in almost a century.

   
  We are looking northwest at the intersection of Pine and 11th Street, one block east of Franklin Street, in Michigan City, Indiana on Thursday, February 3, 2022. Three days earlier on Monday, January 31, the ironic South Shore Line station was demolished. All that remains is the waiting shelter that housed ticket vending machines and a few benches, This is a scene that has not been seen in almost a century. –Bruce Stahl photo
